Greetings,
We are excited to be offering an in-person tournament this year on January 8, 2022. It will be great to see everyone in person again!
1. We will have competition in all 14 of the IHSA events. There will be 3 preliminary events and a final round. Each school may bring 3 entries total per event. Schools may request extra entries; they will be granted when available.
2. Entry fees are based on the total number of entries. Please enter preliminary numbers before Winter Break.
a. 0 - 14 entries: $150
b. 15 – 28 entries: $200
c. 29 entries and above: $250
3. Please bring one judge for every six entries or fraction there of, with a maximum of six judges.
4. Team awards will be given to the top 3 schools based on preliminary rounds.
5. Radio and Extemporaneous Speaking: Students will prep at the tournament for Rounds 1 and 2; they can use either prepped speech in Round 3. There will be prep for Finals.
6. Time: There will be no official penalty for time (except in Radio). Judges may individually consider time as part of the criteria for ranking.
7. We are planning on doing this tournament in person. However, we all know what kind of year we have just had (and in some cases are still experiencing). If needed, we will adjust to a remote tournament. This will be a LAST RESORT however.
